Wildlife protection: workshop
LIBRA INDIA has always been committed to work for the preservation of ecology and creating awareness amongst people for taking all steps necessary for protecting the environment and understanding the need of sustainable development. In pursuit of these objectives and after the promulgation of the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010, LIBRA INDIA organized workshops at Jodhpur and Bhilwara in close association with Legal Initiative for Forest and Environment (LIFE), New Delhi and Action Aid, New Delhi. With the workshops in the form of orientation programs and aptly titled "Making Polluters Liable", LIBRA INDIA and LIFE took initiative to educate advocates, environmentalists, information activists, journalists and other professionals about the scheme of the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 as this statute established specialized environment tribunals in India. The program also helped in making stakeholders aware about the approach of tribunal towards the issues raised before it and interpretation of law by the Apex Court and High Courts.
